Question what happens if the 8 ball is on the pocket and completely block by two of the opponents balls and is hes turn to shoot and fails to hit any of his ball in order not pocket the 8 ball by mistake and loose the game, I know this a foul and this is ball in hand, but i then i have no way to hit the 8 ball because is block, in this case doesn’t the shooter of the balls in front of the 8 ball has to hit them,Can he just shoot without hitting his target balls in front of 8 ball.

@thug22jatt You can pocket the 8-ball in the middle pockets, but it’s a lot harder to pocket them in the middle pockets than corner pockets..

When I play a bar game , I put the rules on paper .And if I forget a rule like ” you cant play the 8 straght on ” , its the adverse players choise.

I might have listened more if he wasn’t sitting on the table. Tournament rules are set up by people that play seriously, the problem with bar rules is that they are made up by just about any yahoo that happens to be there. For 20 years I have played tournament rules, call ball and pocket, end of story. That way there is no argument even if the eight ball goes 4 rails, off three other balls. Good shot.

I used to love 8 ball. I now hate to play because of the f..d up rules, especially in bars. I have seen fist fights because someone who is ahead loses the game because the other guy pulls a rule on him at the last minute. Nine ball or straight pool for me.
