    its supposed to stop people from using the soft break, and also makes it harder to make a ball on the break

    It’s supposed to cut down on the possibility of making the nine on the break. I believe that is the same reason for having a break box.

    to respond to the question about the 9ball on the spot .
    i believe its ment to make it more difficult to make a ball off the break, ..it seems to be the only reasoning.
    cause those pockets are HUGE! and with a standard 1 on the spot 9ball rack a pro player can make the side or head ball 19 out of 20 times in a row.

    the deep breath he takes has nothing to do with him being nervous it’s part of his demeanor at the table. I’ve seen him play live multiple times lol
